Copyright & DMCA Policy

How to send a copyright notice, our designated agent, and our repeat-infringer termination policy under 17 U.S.C. § 512.

Last updated July 2026. This is a beta-period policy and will be reviewed with legal counsel before general availability.

1. Our role and safe harbor

The Beamfall Hosted Relay is a byte-blind conduit for transitory communications under DMCA § 512(a): connections are user-initiated, we select no recipients or content, and we cannot see what is transmitted. We do not host or index your media.

Consistent with § 512(i), we maintain a designated agent, a published Acceptable Use Policy, and a real repeat-infringer termination process.

2. Sending a notice

Send a written notice to our designated agent that identifies the copyrighted work, the material or relay account/hostname claimed to be infringing, your contact information, a good-faith statement, a statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury, and your physical or electronic signature. Notices keyed to a relay account or an <id>.relay.<domain> hostname help us act quickly.

3. Counter-notice and repeat infringers

Affected users may submit a counter-notice with the equivalent statutory elements. We log each valid notice, forward it to the affected relay account, and count it. Accounts that accumulate repeat infringements are terminated under our repeat-infringer policy.

The operational runbook (notice → log → forward → count → terminate), keyed to relay accounts and <id>.relay.<domain> hostnames, is maintained internally.

4. Renewal

Our Copyright Office agent registration is renewed on the required three-year cycle.

Registration with the U.S. Copyright Office DMCA directory is a manual, human step completed before hosted-relay go-live; the three-year renewal is calendared.
